Welcome
I am a Researcher-Facing Systems Analyst in Research IT at The Jackson Laboratory in Farmington, CT.
Before moving into research IT, I spent more than a decade as a genomicist. I trained in molecular biology, genomics, and plant pathology at Mississippi State University (Ph.D. 2016), and later served as Associate Director of Bioinformatics for the Molecular and Genomics Core Facility at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. My research has covered genome assembly and annotation for agricultural crops, pests, and pathogens, as well as transcriptomics and single-cell analysis in biomedical models.
Current work
- AI and cloud architecture: local and cloud-hosted LLMs, and retrieval and search architectures on HPC and cloud platforms
- Research Software Core Service: helped establish the core and its cost-recovery model for cloud, research software, and GenAI services
- LIMS infrastructure: Linux, PostgreSQL, cloud backups, certificate automation, monitoring, and patching
- HPC facilitation and training: onboarding, consulting, and workshops on Introduction to HPC and Reproducible Research
Community
I am a certified Carpentries instructor, a trained CyberAmbassadors facilitator, and a Campus Champion for the NSF ACCESS-CI program. I served on the Researcher-Facing Steering Committee of the Campus Research Computing Consortium (CaRCC), where I organized the monthly Researcher-Facing Call, and I sit on the editorial board of the International Journal of Translational Medicine (MDPI).
